The History of a World

Profit, profit and more profit! I feel sad when I think about it, but it is a fact. The strong desire for more money makes people uncontrollable, senseless and evil. This can be clearly seen when companies exploit the poverty of certain populations to hire thousands of workers, which are put into very hard work, for a tiny amount of money. With the lowest possible cost, with the biggest number of workers available, with the minimal conditions of work, this type of industry may be considered as a mine of gold. This is totally true, but what about the workers? Who thinks about them? Well, our sensitiveness has gone into degradation times ago, but this is the peak of it. Unfortunately it is caused by the best friend of our civilization, which is also the worst enemy of it, the money! Thousands of people in Africa and Asia work for 12-14 hours a day, at extreme working conditions, such as heavy sun or worst, deep 200-300 m into the ground, inside mines that can wreck down at any moment. They provide gold, diamonds, jewels, precious metals to the modern world and they only get food to eat for the rest of the day. It is sad, but it is true. And it does not only happen at these poor countries, but is a strategy used by many companies also at countries in development, for a less paid staff of work. A better salary and work conditions would do nothing harm to these companies, instead it would show their humanity.
