The Morality of Profit

Profit: Return of an Ancient Paradigm

Posted in General by on Jun 17, 2010. 0 Comments

Profit, or profectus in Latin, means to make progress - a concept long overshadowed by Wall Street’s more narrow financial definition. Accepting the definition of profit as making progress gives us the freedom, and ultimately the responsibility, to incorporate values that are more consistent with the depth and breadth of the human condition in how we make decisions and subsequently measure such progress. This essay explores paradigms of profit from an individuals’ perspective, as both a consumer and contributor to society, as well as new corporate paradigms of profit that are just beginning to emerge.
