How To Get Away With Irresponsible Profits

There is a great amount of information available today on how to make money and do business responsibly but there is very little sound advice on how to go about it irresponsibly. Not that there isn’t demand for such advice, of course. The problem with irresponsible business however, is that you get caught, and getting caught is not profitable. So what the devious yet desirous among us actually need is not only a guide to profit irresponsibly, but how to do so and get away with it…

…Responsibility is “a detachable burden” wrote Ambrose Bierce, “easily shifted to the shoulders of God, Fate, Fortune, Luck or one’s neighbour.” Let us see how that can be done…

….Irresponsible profit making must be by definition profit making that hurts someone, makes them worse off or is otherwise unfair to them. If profit is made without mistreating anyone, then it is just legitimate value creation and fair sharing of it. Since we are not interested in that here, we must consider now who to mistreat and how to mistreat them so that we can make extra profit and get away with it….
