She was born in Lubbock, Texas; attended pre-school in Searcy, Arkansas; grew up in South Central L.A. during the ‘60s; got a degree in Library Science in Nashville, which she never used; and attended two years of Divinity School at Yale and Vanderbilt but didn't finish the three-year degree because the music business beckoned. Now she’s headed back to finish that degree, 33 years later, although she’s still not sure what career she will find to pay back the loans. (Theologians don't make much of a living these days.) She's a songwriter, an author, a lay counselor, and a great friend. And she loves to laugh first thing in the morning.
