For the visionaries among us; the profits they seek are creating ideas and methods that will change the world and have legacies that will be remembered for their contributions to whichever area of life they choose to conquer; for the greedy, profit will always be solely defined as the accumulation of wealth and other resources; for the ruthless, profit will be that which can be gained at the expense of others, and for the most ordinary; our profits come in the form of things that will get us from one day to the next, alive and perhaps a little more self-satisfied than we were before. The seeking of profit is elemental to the process of living. Out of both necessity and desire, as human beings we live our lives for the gain of something more than what we’ve come blind and naked into the world possessing. We live to profit.
